Clinical Homecare brings an array of benefits to patients and NHS leads through the provision of delivering specialist medicines to patients’ homes and allowing them to self-administer with the support and training from HealthNet nurses.
This enables patients across the country with differing chronic conditions to maintain independence, sustain relationships and pursue work or education.
Our nurses at HealthNet Homecare are extremely passionate about what they do. So, we decided to ask one of our amazing field nurses, Natasha Chapman, for an insight into her role…
What made you want to be a nurse?
“My colleagues in a previous job told me I would be good at nursing because I was always caring and compassionate to their needs as a manager. This prompted me to consider the possibility of changing my career.
I’ve now been a nurse for almost 2 years, and I have loved every minute of it. The role is so rewarding.”
What’s your favourite part about being a homecare nurse?
“One of my favourite parts about being a homecare nurse is watching patients manage their medication independently, giving them some control back over their condition.
It’s amazing to see these therapies working for patients.”

What does your role involve?
“My role involves driving to patients’ homes to educate them on how to give themselves their medication.
This allows me to get to know each patient individually through 1-1 training sessions, helping them deal with the anxieties around self-injecting to maintain as much independence as possible.
After all, our role is to help them feel at ease with the whole process.”
How have you seen clinical homecare change people’s lives?
“Visiting people with needle phobia has been an eye-opener for me.
Engaging and empathising with patients to help them overcome their fears and receive their life-changing treatment is a great service to be a part of.
Being able to self-inject in your own home brings much more independence for our patients.”
Why do you enjoy working at HealthNet?
“I’ve worked at HealthNet for 4 months now and the role is so rewarding.
There is a feeling of support within the team and independence when out on the road, allowing plenty of time to build trusting relationships with patients and peers.
When I applied for this job, I thought it had got to be too good to be true! But, the job is absolutely as described, and I enjoy it more and more as I grow into the role of a homecare nurse.”
