At HealthNet, we believe the best digital solutions are built by listening to the people who use them every day.
Earlier this year, as part of the pilot rollout of the new Clinician's Gateway, our team embarked on a nationwide roadshow to meet NHS teams, demonstrate the new platform in person and gather valuable feedback from the clinicians and pharmacy professionals who rely on homecare services to support their patients.
The insights gained through these conversations have played a key role in shaping Clinician’s Gateway update helping us refine the platform to better meet the needs of its users. By listening to feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement, and understanding day-to-day challenges, we have been able to enhance the user experience and create a more intuitive, efficient solution for healthcare professionals.
Bringing the Gateway Directly to NHS Teams
Throughout the pilot phase, we visited NHS trusts across England, Scotland and Wales, including:
Portsmouth
Gloucester
Cwm Taf Morgannwg
Aneurin Bevan
Cardiff and Vale
Swansea Bay
NHS Lothian
Peterborough
Northampton
These visits gave healthcare professionals the opportunity to get hands-on with the Clinician's Gateway, explore its features and discuss how digital tools can simplify day-to-day homecare management.
The enthusiasm and engagement we received from every trust was incredibly encouraging. Teams were keen to explore the platform, ask questions and share insights on how digital solutions could better support their workflows.

Listening to Those Who Use It Most
One of the greatest benefits of the roadshow was the opportunity to gather real-world feedback from some of our most engaged digital users.
While data and testing are important, there is no substitute for hearing directly from the people who use a platform in practice. By spending time with clinicians, pharmacists and homecare teams, we were able to gain a deeper understanding of their challenges, priorities and ambitions for the future of digital homecare.
The feedback we received generated numerous feature suggestions, usability enhancements and ideas for future development. Many of these have already influenced improvements to the platform, helping us ensure the Gateway continues to evolve in ways that genuinely benefit NHS teams.
A Successful Pilot Programme
Since the roadshow, the new Clinician's Gateway has been piloted by 18 NHS trusts, with 13 trusts already making use of the platform's prescription upload functionality.
The pilot has provided invaluable insights and has directly contributed to dozens of enhancements and refinements over recent months. These improvements have focused on making the platform more intuitive, efficient and responsive to the needs of healthcare professionals.

Building Better Digital Services Through Collaboration
The Clinician's Gateway was designed to give NHS teams greater visibility, improved access to information and more efficient ways of interacting with HealthNet. However, its continued success depends on ongoing collaboration with the people who use it.
The roadshow reinforced the importance of co-designing digital services with end users and demonstrated how much can be achieved when healthcare providers and NHS teams work together towards a common goal.
We would like to thank every trust that welcomed us, shared their experiences and helped shape the future development of the Clinician's Gateway. Your feedback continues to play a vital role in ensuring the platform delivers meaningful benefits for patients, clinicians and healthcare organisations alike.
As we continue to develop new features and capabilities, we remain committed to listening, learning and improving, because the most effective digital solutions are the ones built in partnership with those who use them.
